Delivery
Free delivery to most of England and Wales. A surcharge applies to Central London, parts of Devon, Cornwall, parts of Wales and Northumberland, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the islands. You'll see it at checkout when you enter your postcode.
Your gate is made to order and takes to build, then 3 to 5 working days for delivery.
Our carrier will contact you by email and text to arrange delivery, which is why we ask for a phone number at checkout. Please make sure there is safe access and someone available to receive the delivery.
Prefer to collect? Choose collection at checkout and pick up from our workshop at Unit 3, Southdown Farm, near Swindon (SN7 7UA).
How to measure
Standard sizes
The size you choose is the finished size of the gate. We build exactly what you order.
Measure your opening at the top, the middle and the bottom, and use the smallest of the three. Openings are rarely square.
Take off 20mm for a garden gate, or 40mm for a pair of driveway gates, to leave room for hinges, latch and movement. Then choose the nearest size at or below that. A 920mm opening needs a 900mm gate.
Driveway gate widths are the total for the pair, so a 2400mm pair is two 1200mm gates.
Height is measured at the sides, so on curved tops the curve rises above it. Featheredge dome top gates are the exception: their height is measured to the top of the dome. All gates are built to ±10mm.
Bespoke sizes
If your opening doesn't suit a standard size, request a bespoke quote. Send us the opening measurements and we'll work out the clearances for you.
Returns
Standard size gates can be cancelled within 14 days of delivery under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. You are responsible for the cost of returning the goods; we can arrange collection and deduct the cost from your refund.
Gates made to your own measurements through our bespoke process are exempt from the 14-day right to cancel.
Timber is a natural material. Variation in grain, colour and knot pattern is normal, as is minor seasonal movement, and neither is a defect. Your statutory rights if a gate is faulty or not as described are unaffected.
